For groups, please specify which house your character belongs in, unless they're a professor. Hogwarts have Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Beauxbaton Houses are Lierre (Ivy), Rosier (Rose), Sureau (Elder Tree), and Belladone (Nightshade). Durmstrang have Vatten (Water), Eldur (Fire), Jord (Earth), and Tuuli (Wind).

Please consider if it is reasonable to have your characters have any special traits that would differentiate them from normal witches and wizards. This means if they're partially a magical creature (part giant or part veela), an animagus or metamorphmagus, if they know highly specialized skills such as occlumency and legilimency, etc. We won't have a numerical limit to the amount of characters that fit into these special categories, but we won't accept everyone and their mother to be an animagus or a werewolf.

There's no word count minimum to reach for the personality, history, and sample sections of the applications. However, do know that we are looking for quality within the application, and that does not always equate to quantity.

We have no strict structure on how personalities should be written out. You are free to write out in a list form with each trait elaborated on or you can freeform in paragraph style. As as long as we understand that there both positive and negative qualities to your character, how you tackle it will be fine. For some guidance however, at least five positive and five negative traits could be considered as a starting point. We're looking on what makes the character unique from each other and their own versions in this AU where the lore is different from standard Nation!Verse. Not all Nyo!s have to align with their canons too closely and not all OC's need to carry the basic cookie cutter personalities.

In the history section, this is your chance to explain how your character grew up in the wizarding world--or not if they were a muggle-born. What was their life at home? How was their first year at attending their magical institution? If they're a faculty member, did they have another job before being hired? You don't need to write a micromanaged biography of your character, but share with us the experiences that shaped them. This is your justification as to how the character developed into who they are today.

For your roleplay sample, you don't necessarily have to write up a whole new post with your character in this AU. Feel free to use older posts from other forums that you have roleplayed in. We only ask that the post is no older than a year old. We have no word minimum but ask that the reply would have enough sustenance for another person to reply with. An estimation for a minimum is around three paragraphs.
