Hey everyone! It’s pretty cool to see that after only a couple weeks of life we’ve already got a pretty nice number of individuals joining us. We’re still heavily in the application process, though, so there’s not a lot of roleplaying going on just yet. We’re excited to see what people do with the story we’ve created and can’t wait to get to the good stuff!
Thank you for bearing with us while we continue transitioning fully into the stages of being 'open.' We know there's currently not a whole lot to do while most people are still in the application process but we love seeing everybody hanging out in the cbox and all of the interesting storylines being suggested. With this all in mind now we'd like to welcome everyone to the forum officially with our very first update announcement.
You've clicked on this so you probably are aware already that this board is where all of your forum updates will be posted. The hope is that we can give updates on what's going on at a fairly regularly interval but we cannot yet give any indication yet as to what that interval might be.
Keep working on those apps, friends! We're super excited to play with you all! If you have any questions or comments leave them in this thread or talk to one of us personally!
Love,
Your Aparecium Staff! <3

Updates
We’ve been making some pretty extensive changes to the forum, mostly by way of adding things for the convenience of our members. Upon first opening the forum it was realized very quickly that a lot of important information was missing and overlooked. We encourage our members to continue helping us, pointing out errors or requesting new information. Even between the four of us sometimes more eyes are needed, hehe....
Somewhat old, but we have added a very extensive thread about the creation of wands. Each wand is drenched heavily with symbolism and should be carefully considered in relating to the kind of person your character is. Sometimes wands can even subtly hint at the kind of qualities that character hides deep within themselves.
This short thread on the choosing of your character's familiar reveals the restrictions and expectations of the schools in terms of the animals they are allowed to bring. Obviously this is not a comprehensive list and many animals can be chosen within reason. If you're unsure about whether or not an animal you would like to assign to your character is allowed, make sure to consult with a staff member!
As members continue to bring up questions, the Schools of Europe thread is always under revision. Several changes have been made to the schools since the forum's official opening. However, none of these changes will require any members to edit their applications. They are mostly extraneous details that people have expressed curiosity in. In particular, Beauxbatons now has an official sorting method!
The new positions thread is our list of special positions that we have open, closed, or reserved. This was initially meant as a way to organize Quidditch teams for applications (even though there's no Quidditch during Triwizard years) but has since expanded to list not only Quidditch teams, but faculty positions, head boys/girls, and prefects. Ensure before writing your application, if you wish to write your character into one of these positions, that you consult with an administrator about reserving the spot - just in case! Conversely if the position is already reserved or filled, your character cannot also be in that position and vice versa.
You might have seen this already, but we've added the Family Encyclopedia plotting subforum. Because of the nature of both the AU and the extensive family canon of Hetalia that might come into play here, we've created a board in which members can freely plot out the specifics of their families in situations so that newcomers can come in and easily see what they need to add into their applications. It will also be a good way for members to keep track of key members, family events, timelines, and other goodies. These threads might also serve to function as group plotters.

- We've made an addition to our character creation board.

- A few changes to groups are also looming.
The group we used for our professors was simply entitled "professors," because we initially believed that teaching faculty would be the only ones present on the forum. However, we've discovered through questioning that we might also have many non-educational adults applying at some point or another. Thus, we've changed the group's name to try and encompass more positions, renaming it the Faculty group. This way members of the Ministry of Magic or some other non-School position are not lumped in with the professors since they're all faculty in their own right.
We've also decided it would be in our best interest to put a hard cap on the amount of Faculty being allowed, since this roleplay is meant to focus mainly on students and their trials and their interactions with the other schools. This hard cap will be ten Faculty, of which we've filled seven positions. Any positions left unfilled by the cap will be NPCs, up to and including Headmasters. If any faculty characters are dropped, the slot will be open again for someone else.
