It was late, school over and The Three Broomsticks was in full bustle, visitors, and a few wizards he recognized were there. He really liked this place, it reminded him of a place back home. It was very warm, crowded with plenty of friendly people, and always clean and welcoming. The noise of chatter helped him not feel so..alone and depressed. The aged waitress he had just finished giving his order to gave him a warm smile, "That be all dear?" The blonde man smiled, not looking up from the table. "Ja...that'll be all, thank you." He muttered, sighing a bit as she left. Today was..not supposed to be sad. That's what he had told himself at least. She wouldn't want him to be upset, especially when celebrating her special day. Theodorich sat by himself at one of the many tables that was set up about the pub. He purposefully decided to take this day off, wanting to at least have a day away and a few drinks in honor of the one woman who had always been there for him. Today was the anniversary of his mothers birthday...She had been gone for seven years now, and even if she was gone..Theodorich still went out and celebrated. It was one of the times he made himself dwell on the happier memories of her. Not the ones he had of her death, when he watched her fade slowly. Though, honestly he wished that he'd at least have someone ..there. But he was the only one who did this, his uncles and aunt busy with their own lives or they just didn't feel the need to celebrate a dead persons birthday. His grandparents didn't..because it was hard to have a child leave this word before them...Theo knew that. But still, it hurt being the only one who tried to remember her on this day. He blinked out of his reverie when a mug was placed in front of him. Looking up he nodded his thanks before taking the glass in hand, the amber liquid inside made him smile. He held it up slightly, and muttered a quiet toast. "Ois Guade zu Deim Geburdstog, Mama..." and with that he sipped the drink, letting the taste push away the ache that rose in his chest. | @anyone # # # NOTES In honor of my grandma's birthday. |
