[attr="class","profileboxscroll"]Madeline is usually a rather calm and laid back for the most part. She typically minds her own business when it comes to strangers, and tends to not get involved unless it is required of her. When it comes to people she knows though if her friends are involved she likes to be included. Being left out makes her exceptionally sad, and she usually dwells over why they didn’t invite her or if maybe they aren’t as good of friends as she thought. Being left out makes her self-conscious about what she may have done wrong, but she isn’t very good at confronting people about it so she never asks why she wasn’t invited either.
Sometimes she can be a little socially awkward and so making new friends is sometimes a challenge for her. It takes a little bit of time for her to warm up to and open up to people because of it. Of course she would like to make more friends, but sometimes it's hard when you're a bit on the quiet side. Sometimes she’s a rather conflicted girl as she doesn't really want to completely stand out, but she doesn't want to be ignored either. She would much rather sit on the line between the two, but unfortunately she’s can fall a bit on the ignored side. The girl tries to be as independent as she can, and is always able to keep herself busy and manage without anyone's assistance. If they decide to offer she will likely take them up on it, and remember the gesture later with appreciation. She doesn’t usually ask for help though, and would rather have it be offered to her instead.
That being said, she's not always calm, and sometimes she feels the need to speak out to stick up for herself. There are times when she's ignored after standing up for herself too, but she does try to be at least a little louder depending on how mad she is. She's also not really shy, she's just quiet. She prefers to sit and observe what is going on around her rather than speaking out instantly. She'd feel bad if she tried to talk over someone else the way she gets spoken over for being so quiet and likely would apologize instantly if it ever happened. The girl tends to apologize for things that aren't her fault too just because she sometimes feels like she needs to. Despite that, she's still a rather determined person, and never gives up whether people notice her efforts or not. Though, she does wish people wouldn't forget her, or at least wouldn't always ignore her simply because she talks quietly. Maddie just keeps trying and hopes that eventually someone will realize all that she actually does.
That being said, she does still know how to have fun and get out there. She doesn’t always do great in large groups of people, because she’s overlooked or spoken over, but if she can get someone to listen to her she’s perfectly fine. She loves the outdoors and spends as much time as she can in them regardless of the weather. The girl is usually pretty upbeat, but she also sometimes gets lonely and sad because of being forgotten about. Though sometimes she holds a bit of a grudge over this. Of course, she doesn’t typically tell the person she’s upset with them as that would be confrontational and so she just lets them figure it out and if they give some sort of apology they are forgiven. She forgives easily, but only because she just wants an acknowledgement of the wrongdoing and a statement of wanting to make up for it. For her it’s the thought and the actions that count more than anything else.

history
[attr="class","profileboxscroll"]Mary met her husband Francis(not france) when they were both on business in Quebec. It wasn't long until they fell in love and got married. They decided to settle in Quebec and thus that was where Madeline was born. The two parents had to struggle in order to stay around for their young daughter, but they were able to manage with only one or the other off on business for short periods of time rather than the extended trips they had taken before getting married. Maddie was a rather well behaved and quiet child, so she never gave her parents trouble even when she missed one or the other while they were away. Mostly she occupied herself with books and was always reading to pass the time once she learned how.
Of course, it wasn't long until she started showing subtle signs of magic, books and toys suddenly falling off toys when she discovered she couldn't reach them for example. Seeing as her parents worked so frequently, it took them a little longer to notice than perhaps it should have, but they weren't surprised. Both of them were magical so it was of no real surprise to either of them that she was as well. Unfortunately though, they were only getting busier and the business trips they needed to take were starting to get harder to time correctly. Thus, when Madeline was nine she was sent to live with her father's parents in Paris, France.
She missed her parents terribly, but she understood that they couldn't just leave her on her own. Also, it wasn't all bad as her cousin had recently moved to the UK so that meant she got to see her more than previously when she lived in New York while Maddie was in Quebec. She was already fluent in French, so the switch wasn't too disorienting for her either, it was just a slightly different dialect for her to get used to. So she adjusted quickly, but still missed her home. Her parents were able to visit for most holidays, and her birthday, but for the most part it was just her and her grandparents. She helped them around the house where she could and tried to stay out of trouble. Her grandparents introduced her to magic and the world she would be a part of once she was accepted to school. They knew she would be of course as she had shown plenty of signs of having magic.
A few years passed and she got an acceptance letter to Beauxbatons. She was super excited to go to the school, but was a little disappointed that she wouldn't be at the same school as her cousin who had gotten accepted a year earlier. Her parents were able to get time off of work to take her shopping for school, and she was ecstatic about it. She did still miss them when they were away on their trips after all. The wands were trial and error, but she was able to settle on a supple cedar wand with a unicorn hair core that was ten and a quarter inches long. After that she just couldn't wait to get to school, she read as much of her new school books as she could and figured out what exactly it was she would need to pack for her first year.
Once her first year arrived she waited to be sorted. It would seem she fit into two houses, and so it was hard for the fountain to decide where exactly to put her. In the end it decided upon Lierre and she happily joined her fellow housemates at the table for dinner. She was quiet so she did have a little trouble making friends at first, but soon enough she had a few close friends and went home over the summer excited for another school year.
Over the years Maddie did pretty well in most of her subjects, and so it was more a matter of interests she wanted to pursue when deciding what classes she really wanted to take, and quickly decided that she didn't want to do anything with Astronomy. The stars just all looked the same to her so she had some trouble with the various constellations. So she's glad she'll be able to drop it once she passes her owls during her fifth year.

[attr="class","profileboxscroll"]From Memories Remain:
Maddie was both surprised and not to see Andrei had managed to slip in during the chaos that was going outside. It seemed very like him to do so, and just reaffirmed her judgement in going to her son’s room in the event someone had taken advantage of the chaos. It had seemed there was someone who did just that, or had orchestrated it to begin with for such reasoning. She wasn’t sure which it was, both were likely, but seeing as who it was she didn’t mind so much. Anyone else would have been a problem, but as this was the father of her child, it was more okay for her. The rest of the kingdom would likely disagree with her, but that was why it had been more than a slight scandal to begin with. If only things were simpler, her son could have his father in his life more, and she could be with a certain joker without worrying about how that was viewed by other kingdoms. Things weren’t that simple though, and so she had to keep up appearances when it came to such things, thus locking the door behind her preventing anyone else from disturbing them.
She asked if he orchestrated this, and apparently he hadn’t though it definitely seemed like something he would do. It seemed he found the notion amusing at least rather than offensive. He was guilty of apparently using the chaos to slip in though. ”I knew it had to be one of those. Your timing was too appropriate to be coincidence.” she said simply while he gave her a slight bow and a grin. ”Jayden and his games.” she said with a sigh. The joker had some serious dodging abilities, and so that was basically how he managed to continue his chaos wherever he saw fit. At least, as far as she was concerned that was how he managed it, she saw no other explanation for how he hadn’t been impaled yet. Surely he’d pissed someone off enough to deserve stabbed by now. At least, she thought he somewhat deserved it, he was kind of good at pushing the buttons of everyone around him after all. Anyway, she asked if Andrei was staying for a bit, and secretly hoped that he would agree to. Perhaps he wouldn’t though, after all the longer he stayed the more he ran the risk of being discovered. Though, really, she wasn’t sure he would actually care about being discovered.
He stated that he could stay if she had no arguments. ”I don’t, it would certainly be nice if Christian could spend some time with his father.” she said with a slight smile at the boy. The joker commented about guards being more focused on people getting in and she mused that over for a moment. She supposed that was a fair assessment, they were always more worried about someone sneaking in rather than someone sneaking out. Then he commented that he and his son were having too much fun to cut it short right now and she smiled as the boy looked up at him and nodded with a simple ”Yes” in reply. ”I wish you could spend more time with him really.” she said with a slight sigh, but there was no way that wouldn’t cause problems in the kingdom, jokers were outcasts for a reason after all. ”He’s already started developing magic abilities, he’s going to be quite problematic when he’s older.” she said smiling fondly at her son, and she hoped he didn’t have to end up an outcast because of it.
