Madeline Rousseau; 16; Bisexual; Lierre
FRIENDS This will hopefully be the largest category as Maddie is nice and likes making friends. She's a little on the quiet side and doesn't really approach people first, but as long as someone approaches her she'll be nice and open to a friendship with them. Really she just likes being notice so anyone that comes up to her and is nice is automatically on her good side. She's a little quiet, but tends to open up more to those close which is not likely to be a huge number of people but more likely a smaller group that she's really attached to. Amelia Miller - Cousin/Close Friend Lili Zwingli - Housemate/Close Friend Roderich Edelstein - Friend Mihai Roşu - Onesided Friendship Snežana Knežević - Friend Astrit Zupan - New friends
ENEMIES People who try to use/manipulate her will end up here. Either that or someone who is a blatant bully to her her or friends. I don't see this list being very long, but she does have quite the snap when she's annoyed even if it's a quiet annoyed.
LOVERS Maddie is a socially awkward muffin and I feel like flirting would go over her head unless the person was pretty blatantly obvious about it. She'd flirt back without realizing that's what she was doing, but if someone was genuinely interested they would have to kind of spell it out. She may be observant when it comes to other people, but when it comes to someone interested in her she's hilariously oblivious. It would have to be someone she was friends with first, as she's wary of dating someone she doesn't actually know, but she wouldn't be opposed to relationship of sorts.
OTHERS I'm not sure what this category would consist of, family and acquaintances maybe? People she's met once and did okay with? If you have ides that don't fit above feel free to throw them at me and we'll see where it goes.
Ion Zakharov; 17; Gay; Eldur
FRIENDS He's a difficult person to approach and even more difficult to befriend. The only real sure way to get him to like you is to present him with some sort of competition. It takes some time for him to warm up to people, but once he does he attaches himself to his friends in a somewhat clingy manner. Figuring out common interests and approaching from that angle is probably the easiest way to start a conversation with him as he's not particularly social and spends most of his time on interests. People mostly just confuse him. Natalya Arlovskaya - Half-sister/good friend
ENEMIES Ion is super vindictive, so enemies will be easy for him to make. Any slight against him is bound to cause at least some sort of retaliation. Depending on the severity of the slight it could range from harmless payback to out-right hexing.
LOVERS This will be an...interesting category for Ion as he not only has to warm up to the person first, but they will have to be able to deal with how clingy he gets.
OTHERS People he hasn't decided about go here I guess?

These two have plenty of reason to know each other. They're close in age and they're in the same house. Lili goes out of her way to meet everyone and I think the two of them might have hit it off pretty well? :u

Yesssss I think they would be absolutely precious (best?)friends after 5 years of being in the same house together. She could have easily been the first person Maddie met after getting sorted honestly. They definitely would have hit it off pretty well.

Okay, so we talked about this: Era and Maddie, probably friends. Era probably took a while to warm up to Maddie (the only person she ever didn't take a while to warm up to was her brother, because tiny AND scared AND family, so you know), but considering that they're the same year, I can definitely see them forming a friendship at some point, which would probably be pretty solid by now.
Couple little things that might feed into plotting: Era had an "interesting" moment in late January of her first year--she did not deal well with the news of a werewolf attack in her family, and needed help calming down enough to make arrangements to get home. D'you think she and Maddie would already be friends by then? Also, in her third year she started Seeing and prophesying; how would Maddie have reacted to that?

Well school starts in September, so if Era would have warmed up to her by January after seeing her in classes all day every day and attempts by Maddie for friends with everyone in her year then sure she could have helped calm her down.
The seeing bit is a little different. Maddie probably would have found it fascinating actually. She'd be curious about what she saw for the most part. If Era wanted to talk about it with her she'd be more than willing to listen and ask questions about details.

Yeah, I think four and a half months would probably be enough for Era to warm up to Maddie, considering that Maddie is basically as sweet as they come. It makes sense.
Era's own knowledge of what she's been Seeing is... uh, limited; from her perspective, there's stuff she does in Divination class and then there's these random and kind of freaky moments where she faints without much warning and then when she wakes up people are telling her she said stuff about the future. So while she will probably want to talk about it, and be happy to answer Maddie's questions, there is also a point where her answer is "You would know more about that than I do, because I don't remember it."

oh pff that's fair. Maddie will write things down for her to look at later and perhaps they can figure things out together if it's vague. Though initially she would be concerned about her friend just sort of passing out at random. Once she figures out she's okay and it's just future nonsense she'll adjust and do her best to make sure Era doesn't harm herself by like falling down stairs or something.

Eheheh, sounds pretty good to me. (Era ought to be fine--I'm basing her experience of Seeing roughly on Professor Trelawney, with the only major differences being in her reactions after the fact since she's got a very different personality--but she would definitely appreciate someone looking out to make sure of that.) So they can be cute dorky friends, then?

Alfred and Madeline - I'm thinking pretty much the same thing as it was with Amelia and Maddie. So long as you're cool with keep things that same way pfft.
Natalya and Madeline - ..I don't think they'd be quite friends because they'd just be meeting one another but I don't see these two being on bad terms. Acquaintances on good terms?
..already did plots for Ion and I think we have that about covered. XD

Heeeey, I have a Matthew to throw at Madeline if you'd like! He happens to be Alfred's cousin, too. Something in common already He can be a little manipulative, but only in the sense that he collects information on people and then tries to get favours, if he needs, by being really nice to them. It's hard to tell with him. But he might genuinely like her. There's not very many people that he truly likes. Having someone nice to invest in would probably be good for him. I also have Nicolau to throw at Ion, maybe. They're in the same school and house. Although the only sort of competition that Nicolau can present is academia-wise. He excels in most everything he does though, and is outwardly self-confident enough to drive people insane. It'd be interesting to see what happens with these two, if Ion's up for threading.

Yess throw Mattie at Maddie. Cousin pile yes good. She's super nice, so I think they could definitely get along. She tries to get along with everyone, and being that they share a cousin they definitely have a starting place for meeting and getting along.
Ion's up for some level of academic challenge as long as it doesn't involve history of magic. He's got a very short attention span for general school work, so if it was in the form of a game or something it would work better than just trying to out-random-fact one another. Ion is definitely up for threading, I need to get him tossed around. Being that they are in the same house, Nicolau has probably actively seen Ion doing some odd things (like sleepwalking/talking, or knitting in the dark)

Yeeees, they do share a cousin though Mattie really dislikes Alfred for convoluted Mattie reasons! And Mattie and Maddie is brilliant. The mix-ups between who's who at first is hilarious to think about XDD And Matthew might genuinely like her. It's difficult to tell with him, but I think he could. Having a few real friends that he invests in, instead of just keeping up the pretenses of caring for them, would definitely be good for him. How should they meet?
And Nicolau does perform well in mostly logical or writing-based classes, but he has the problem of trying to excel in everything at once instead of specialising. Failure (even average, really) is a nonexistent concept for him, and he can get really snobby about it even if he doesn't think he is. It'd be nice to knock him off his high horse a bit. I'm thinking maybe a class in which they actually work with spells and magic -- application and all that good stuff? Ion is good with charms and such, right? They could maybe subtly try to outperform the other, and it just builds up over time to the point that they actually start to talk to each other. (Also it'd freak Nicolau to see Ion doing the first of those two. Sounds like fun times! ;D)

Well its entirely possible that they have met already at some family function like Christmas/Birthday/Random celebratory holiday where families get together. If not then she's talking to Alfred in the great hall during the event, he could see this and ask her about it later. Or Alfred could introduce them. I'm sure I could talk Mandee into that if needed.
Ion is good with charms, and now that he's in his upper years he isn't setting fire to all of his potions so both of these classes could be good for trying to subtly outperform one another. Neither of them seem to be very good at the social sort of thing, but being in the same space trying to out-magic one another for years definitely opens things up for them to start talking. (fun times indeed, he could always ask about that to get them to start talking too) Do we want to get a thread started? I'll probably throw him in the open durmstrang one but like the whole school is there so it's likely not much interaction would be going on other than some casual hellos.

You make some good points! I'm sure the Joneses have had Maddie at their place sometime, or vice versa. Matthew is sure to be more open to getting to know her, and sharing experiences, now that they're older and he has more of a chance to. He definitely wants to know her opinion on Alfred, her time at Beauxbatons, etc. If he knows/finds out that she's from Quebec, that'd make him ridiculously happy, though he might not show it. He's a Montreal boy himself.
And sounds good for Ion and Nico! Should we assume that they've been doing that for several months or even a couple of years? Nicolau would get fed up by that time with competing with Ion, but not even knowing a thing about him. He'd be willing to open up for conversation by then, since he likely would have deemed Ion as someone advanced enough, and worth Nicolau's time to get to know.
I'd be up for making the starter thread with Ion and Nicolau (unless you want to do then, then it's all yours!), and maybe even the one for Maddie and Mattie once we get their information established! When/where do you think Ion would be open for conversation?
