Ludwig isn't exactly the friendly type. While he knows a lot of people as casual acquaintances and is cordial and polite to strangers, he has few genuine friends. Distant and constantly busy as he is, Ludwig doesn't exactly make it easy for anyone wanting to get to know him better, and getting close to him requires earning both his respect and his trust.  However, to those he considers friends, Ludwig is unfalteringly loyal, helpful, and protective. With the special nature of this school year in mind, he's a bit more open to meeting and befriending others in general.

As with friends, Ludwig considers himself too busy to sustain enemies: he has a rival or two, but he's surprisingly patient regarding arguments and considers most fights a waste of time. That being said, the unlucky soul that does end up on Ludwig's bad side can look forward to being treated with utter contempt, or even cruelty.  And in those rare cases, even cautious Ludwig isn't above a physical or magical fight. He's quick to defend his friends or himself, in that order, from anyone trying to inflict pain.

Three for three, it's yet another thing Ludwig considers himself too busy to be invested in. While he has nursed the occasional crush on a classmate or two, Ludwig tends to keep his focus on his studies. He's had no experience whatsoever with flirting or dating, and tends to get wildly awkward when either subject is brought up. It's best to be a friend of Ludwig's before even trying to be something more, and even then, that person would have to put up with the incoherent flailings of Ludwig's attempts to learn romance. Still, as with friendship, Ludwig would be utterly devoted and loyal to anyone able to get that far.

Quidditch rivals? Underclassmen? Remedial students looking for a tutor? Several cats standing on top of each other to pose as a human? Ludwig only has so many hours in the day, but perhaps he has room for you in his schedule after all.
