Subjects
There are core subjects that every student would need to study up until their 6th year. Based on the scores on their OWLS, young witches and wizards may continue these subjects at an advanced level for their last two years at Hogwarts.
The core classes that are known in canon are astronomy, charms, defense against the dark arts, herbology, history of magic, potions, an transfiguration. These are all mandatory.
As of recently, Muggle Studies have been also been made a mandatory subject, with the intentions of educating the students on common muggle life. This includes covering pieces of muggle technology to current muggle happenings, to even muggle subjects that most students would have been taught if they indeed went to a muggle school.
Students can take extra-curricular classes at the beginning of their 3rd Year at Hogwarts.

New Professors
Not even the most beloved of professors could teach at Hogwarts forever. Therefore there have been plenty of few faculty members that walks within the halls of the old castle along with their students. They vary from former students to those who never have even went to the British wizarding school.
For now, there is no priority in filling every single staff position mentioned within both the films and the novels. We would, after all, like to focus on the student population of Hogwarts. Do keep in mind however, that we are looking for Head of Houses, more specifically the Slytherin and Hufflepuff Head of House.
