People accuse him of being overly difficult. Personally, he disagrees. He doesn't think he's difficult. Stubborn? Certainly. He takes pride in his stubbornness. But difficult? Nahhhh. They were the ones difficult! He could barely understand people. He couldn't understand where the prejudice against those of... muggleborns emerged. He found wizards - especially pure bloods - ridiculously stupid. They took pride in being "better than muggles" but in reality, they were no better. He suspects all the prejudice against those of not so pure blood was taken from humans. The point is, he refuses to even attempt to get along with such hypocrites!
In the event he does, by some miracle, manage to effectively work with another human-being/wizard, the unlucky person may find Ariel to be a surprisingly clingy person. He tends to be rather careful of his possessions and he holds his friends dearly.
