FRIENDS Astrit is quiet, secretive, and arrived at Hogwarts not speaking very good English yet, but despite all that he'd still love to have some friends. Anyone patient enough to deal with him will be welcomed as a friend and have his loyalty in whatever way possible. Other Gryffindors will probably have the easiest time, just for sheer proximity, but he doesn't feel the need to avoid making friends in other Houses or even at other schools either. This is pretty much a wide-open category. Alfred Jones - An older student who took Astrit under his wing to help him learn English when he first arrived at Hogwarts. Alfred will eventually discover Astrit's "furry little problem," a possibility which terrifies the poor werewolf since he fully expects to be shunned at best and kicked out of Hogwarts at worst. Era Kastrati - Astrit's older sister (if pressed he'll admit she's his half-sister, but that's the only kind of sibling he has so he doesn't usually bother with the distinction) and one of his best friends. She respects him in a way that a lot of people don't, and they work on the same wavelength a lot of the time.

ENEMIES Frankly, Astrit expects enemies, even though he hates having them. There's plenty of reasons someone might become his enemy--for example, he's secretive, insecure, and outwardly cynical, all of which may well rub people the wrong way. This is also pretty open.

LOVERS Chances are, Astrit will never have one of these. He's a bit young for it right now anyway, and for various reasons he's unlikely to act on any crushes he might get. That, and the only time he'd have the remotest chance of having a romantic relationship, it would be with someone within a year of his own age, and... those are a bit thin on the ground here for the time being.

OTHERS Acquaintances, teachers, and people whose relationship with Astrit is complicated go here, because not everyone fits neatly into one particular category.

SNEŽANA KNEŽEVIĆ
- Serbia - Female - Seventeen - Demisexual - Single - Beauxbatons - Sureau -

FRIENDS I don't honestly know how many friends Snežana would have, but whoever's seen what she's like and is willing to give it a try is quite welcome to do so. Maybe she'll turn out to be relatively popular; she's a pretty interesting lady with plenty of talents and some skills in difficult subjects. Or maybe she'll only have a couple of close friendships in which she invests lots and lots of time and energy. We'll just have to see how she does with everyone else. Mihai Roșu - Mi has been her best friend since first year. He stuck by her through some hard times, she's returned the favor. Madeline Rosseau - Though a year behind Snežana, Maddie is just plain nice. They lost touch when Snežana was going through some family trouble, but reconnected later.

ENEMIES Whoever wants to try this out is also welcome. For all the reasons there are to like Snežana, I'm sure you could find an excuse to dislike her as well; she can be pretty bossy (especially when she's scared), she gives off a really cold vibe sometimes, and messing with people she loves is a quick and easy way to get into a fight with her. Again... we'll see.

LOVERS This is inevitably going to be a subset of "friends." Snežana is technically pureblood, but she doesn't actually care what her parents think about what she does with her heart--after all, she's long since figured out that their methods didn't exactly work out for them, so there's still less guarantee it'd work for her. What matters to her is whether she actually likes a person or not; only established friends need apply. And if she doesn't find anyone interested who also interests her... small loss indeed: she's got other things to do with her life.

OTHERS Like it says on the tin, anyone who is neither a friend nor an enemy per se. Acquaintances too distant to categorize, for one, or people who have something complicated going on. Alfred Jones - They have yet to meet, but things are likely to get very complicated between them just because they're too much alike. Probably will be both enemies and friends at different times. Roderich Edelstein - Not exactly an enemy, but certainly a rival: Snežana identified him as the guy to beat in Dueling Club, and will definitely be defeating him someday, she promises. Still, Mihai seems to like him okay, so there must be something likable about him, even if Snežana has yet to see what it is.

ERA KASTRATI
- Albania - Female - Sixteen - Lesbian - Single - Beauxbatons - Rosier -

FRIENDS Era doesn't make friends easily, because she has a hard time trusting people, but by now she's surely made a few friends at Beauxbatons. Those few people she does learn to trust, she trusts absolutely and will be loyal to forever. Astrit Župan - Era's younger brother (well, technically half-brother, but that's just nitpicking), and one of her closest friends. They met at an age somewhat older than siblings usually do, which probably has something to do with why they respect each other so much. Madeline Rousseau - A yearmate and genuinely nice person. Era gets along with her quite well.

ENEMIES It's likely that Era will have earned herself a couple of enemies, or at least people who dislike her. She isn't especially gregarious, and her initial standoffishness is likely to get her pigeonholed in negative ways, and her reputation as a troublemaker means that teachers are also pretty likely to end up in this category.

LOVERS Era gets crushes at a rate approximately average for a girl of her age, but she's very unlikely to act on them unless she's confident that the girl who's caught her eye is trustworthy. For this reason, she's likely to prefer to date among her existing friends, since she's already decided she's okay with them.

OTHERS Again, this is... everybody else: people whose relationships with Era are either too distant or too nebulous to fit into the other categories. Alfred Jones - A friend of Era's baby brother Astrit; they haven't met yet, but once they do they will get to be friends pretty quickly because Alfred has already proven himself trustworthy.

Amelia and Astrit - I'd like these two to be friends. I know there's a few year age difference, but we discussed Amelia possibly taking Astrit under her wing and helping him to learn English? She certainly wouldn't give up very easily. I don't know if she'd know about his 'furry little problem' or not, but I suppose we can discuss that as well. XD

Amelia and Astrit - As indicated already, I'm certainly on board with these two being friends! I do like the idea of Amelia taking Astrit under her wing, and of her helping him with the language...

About the "furry little problem," that's actually a super-interesting one and I've been sort of wanting for somebody to find out... but Astrit isn't likely to tell, because he's used to secret-keeping being kind of important for his own safety (and he's probably right about this being such a case). I would be totally on board with Amelia accidentally finding out one way or another, though--you'd know better than me about how would be most in-character for her, but in general it would probably be some variant on "she happens to be present when he transforms one month." Of course, he would probably try to talk her into going away if he knew she was there...

Amelia and Astrit - Well if the two of them are friends and Astrit says or does something that would concern Amelia, she'd definitely try to look into the problem. She also wouldn't take no for an answer if she had suspicions that Astrit was hiding something from her that she needed to know. So her habit for poking her nose into other people's business to 'help' them could definitely come in handy for furthering this sort of plot. Either she could stumble across something that reveals the secret or stumble across Astrit during a full moon and reveal the secret.

Amelia and Astrit - Some thoughts on Amelia finding out about the whole werewolf thing, then:

• Astrit is pretty used to being secretive, but he's also really determined to be honest as much as humanly possible. He would probably run into a bit of trouble if, e.g., Amelia invited him to do something (for basically any value of "something") the evening of a full moon, because usually his excuse after the fact is "I was sick" but he can't quite say "I'm going to be sick" because... well, duh. He'd probably come up with something, but he might fumble a little because he's not used to being invited to do things in advance. Good place to start with suspicions.
• If she were to notice him on his way to wherever he hides out (since obvsy the dorm is not a good place for a werewolf), they could have a nice little discussion... probably featuring Astrit desperately trying to simultaneously convince her that following him is not a good idea and clue her in to the fact that he's a "safe" werewolf (aka Wolfsbane addict) just in case she doesn't get the hint in time.
• Actually, how likely would Amelia be to figure out what was going on if she caught Astrit with a Wolfsbane Potion...? He'd definitely tell her something to the effect of "I'm sick a lot and this helps make it better" if she asked him about it, which is helpfully both true and misleading, but would there be any chance she'd be able to identify the potion or anything of the sort? At the least, it might also be a clue.
• He's terrified of being caught werewolfing, mostly because he's accustomed to the idea that people will be afraid of/reject/shun/try to hurt him. Which means that he will be really scared if Amelia finds out, 'cause he doesn't want to lose her friendship, plus she might even get him kicked out of Hogwarts if she went and told everyone (or at least he thinks this is a possibility, don't know if it really is)...

With my second character having been accepted, Snežana has now been added!

Maddie && Snežana
Well they're at the same school so that's somewhere to start. Age-wise they're only a year apart, and while they're not in the same house I think they would have at least run into one another at some point. It's not uncommon for students to make friends with those from a year above or a year below after all. I think they could be friends, Maddie's pretty friendly/nice overall and would likely brush off any icy behavior from Snežana pretty easily. They have some similarities as they both like pursuing knowledge for the sake of it. I think they could get along and be pretty good friends. (Sureau was actually the other possibility for Maddie's house but Lierre fit just a little bit better)


Maddie && Astrit
A more difficult person for Maddie to meet but not impossible as Maddie and Amelia are cousins through their twin sister mothers and so it wouldn't be far fetched for Amelia to introduce Astrit to Maddie when she shows up for the tournament. (talked to Mandee this would totally happen) So while they wouldn't be friends yet they could easily become friends over the course of the year and then turn into pen-pals once Maddie has to return to France.

Fantastic, more plotting!

Snežana and Maddie - I can believe that these two could be friends. Snežana was pretty friendly at the beginning of her time at Beauxbatons, and again recently, though there was a while there in the middle where she was... rather preoccupied with some family problems (executive summary: she was told Astrit died, which went over very poorly with her). Might they have become friends when Maddie first arrived, or would that be better as a more recent development?

Astrit and Maddie - Ahaha, yes, I could totally picture them meeting through Amelia and getting to know each other over the course of the year. This could go in all kinds of directions that will probably be clearer if we actually put it into practice, but I would like to start by tentatively floating the idea that, as I mentioned, Snežana actually doesn't know that Astrit is alive. (Or that he's going by "Astrit," for that matter--he changed his name about four days after she thinks he died.) And I've been rather wanting my two to run into each other at some point, for plotty/dramatic reasons--would you be interested in Maddie facilitating this, whether intentionally or by accident?

Snežana && Maddie - as someone who was pretty lonely up until she started school when she started she probably would have tried to make friends with just about everyone, and Snežana would definitely have been someone she would have tried befriending pretty early on in her years. She would have tried to do what she could during those years in the middle, but they might have drifted apart a little and then rekindled their friendship later?

Astrit && Maddie - She would love to accidentally facilitate this in the sense that she just decides "Oh lets introduce my friends to Amelia's friends so we can allll be one big group o' friends". Yes, most of their interactions will have to be sort of threaded out to see where it goes though.

Snežana and Maddie - Yes, this works! They probably would have gotten to know each other pretty early on, then--and then reconnected once Snežana stopped being a robot lady. It makes sense to me.

Astrit and Maddie - Sounds fantastic to me, and I can see these two being pretty fun to play together.

Astrit & Ludwig :: So I still need to put in the ideas thread what I think Hogwarts' werewolf policy involves, but I have a feeling that one way or another, these two are going to find each other out. It's even a possibility that, since Ludwig's older than Astrit, he might have been assigned as a kind of mentor to help Astrit adjust to the whole school/werewolf balance thing at first. Do you have any thoughts or ideas?

Astrit & Ludwig - Yes, yes! These two should definitely have wolfy coexistence things. Astrit was bitten while he was still attending Muggle school, so I imagine he'd have come already possessed of at least some of the skills required to balance school and wolfing, but I would definitely be on board with Ludwig serving as a sort of "wolf mentor" to the kid, who doesn't have any pre-existing acquaintance with other werewolves and therefore would probably benefit from comparing notes with someone else in a similar situation. (I would also note that Astrit is terrified of the possibility that he might accidentally hurt somebody--while transformed or otherwise; how might Ludwig take that?)

Also, do you reckon they'd spend time in their wolf forms together, or would they spend their transformed time separated? (This will affect which directions I would consider taking plotting.)

Astrit & Ludwig :: Excellent, they can be upper-under-classmen buddies that way. Or at least acquaintances. Regarding Astrit's fear of hurting someone, that's something Lud would be very familiar with, so he can try to offer advice about that (or on bad days, they can worry together). As for spending time together as wolves, I think it depends. Lud usually tries to spend that time alone but for several reasons, that often fails. So it's something he'd be open to, or at least used to.
